Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Renovation

Aspirus Wausau Hospital

Wausau, Wisconsin

The most intense commitment to helping and caring for new life is found in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  The NICU volumes at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital have increased in capacity.  This extremely high-level of care called for an expansion to the department.  This project consisted of a build-out of an existing shelled expansion floor.  The new NICU provides space for the care of up to 14 infants.  These services are located on the top floor of the three-story building.

The project was designed for the “LEED for Healthcare Rating System”, a new adopted system, with hopes to apply for LEED Certification as soon as the project is enacted.
