Bradley University, Engineering & Convergence Center
Peoria, Illinois
Engineering and business are core strengths at Bradley, and are a major source of top professional talent. But it’s no longer enough to be an expert in one field. The students must be uniquely prepared to operate in a new paradigm where cross-disciplinary collaboration is expected.
To support the academic requirements of this new, signature program and develop a distinctive education model that will result in an educational experience that is second to none, a new Center for Engineering and Business Convergence was built.
The Center is a 327,000 square foot facility that houses the College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business Administration, as well as the centerpiece Convergence Center which connects the two buildings and houses many of the joint facilities and activities.
The Convergence Center provides:
Two large innovation and commercialization laboratories which provide facilities equivalent to those of a small company where multidisciplinary teams will design, develop, prototype, finance, market, pilot, manufacture and distribute productions.
- A 200-seat auditorium for meetings, presentations and workshops
- Technically sophisticated classrooms and additional conference rooms
- Significant public areas for students and faculty from both colleges for ad-hoc study groups and social activities
- Offices for the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship
- Offices for the Dean of each college.
Henneman was responsible for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design.
