Description: The Industrial Technology Group (ITG) at Henneman Engineering currently has an internship opportunity for a structural engineer intern in our Champaign, IL office. This person will be responsible for assisting the engineers they work with in: AutoCAD, construction drawings, inputting data into analysis software, and compiling reports for various clients in industries such as manufacturing, food, chemical processing, consumer products, pharmaceutical, power generation, and renewable energy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Areas of exposure may include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in overall design and engineering of structural systems for projects as assigned throughout construction phase.
- Visiting job sites to conduct structural inspections, verifications, and progress evaluations.
- Coordinating system layout and drawings with other disciplines; working as part of a multidisciplinary project team(s).
- Preparing contract documents, technical specifications, reports, structural cost estimates, and other relevant documents.
- Reviewing and acting upon RFIs, submittals, and other construction-related documents..
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Experience: Henneman Engineering-ITG is open to considering a diverse range of experience and skill levels. Experience with AutoCAD is desirable.
Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with skills and experience; 40 hours per week
