Henneman Engineering provided mechanical design and energy calculations for the closed loop geothermal well field adjacent to the OTE building. The OTE building is approximately 47,000 square feet, and will house offices, an industrial incubator, and conference spaces. Our work as the engineer was to size the closed loop geothermal well field to provide the necessary heat sink for the building’s HVAC system. The design consisted of 36 vertical deep wells 490 feet deep. A test well was drilled on site to determine actual energy transfer characteristics of the soils.
