Henneman Engineering was retained by Actus LendLease to provide engineering design services for privatization of military housing at United States Army bases across the South and Southwest. The first phase addressed the lodging issues at:
- Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
- Fort Shafter/TAMC, Hawaii
- Fort Sill, Oklahoma
- Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona
- Fort Myer, Virginia
- Fort Hood, Texas
This effort encompassed a wide range of lodging facilities, including bed-and-breakfast style historic inns, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Hotels, and existing multi-family residences. In addition, Henneman Engineering provided LEED enhanced commissioning services, and test and balance services.
Among the Historic Register buildings in this project were Otis Hall and Custer House at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Foulois House and Sam Houston House at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas; and Comanche House at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
The scope of work for Fort Leavenworth in Kansas included MEP, life safety, and ADA improvements for Hoge Barracks (308 rooms), Otis Hall (8 rooms), and Custer House (6 rooms). The work for Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, included remodeling of Keith Ware Hall, Poxon House, and four 5700 Buildings.
