Madison College, EVOC Facility

The Madison College Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) Facility is vital in preparing first responders for the demands of intense emergency driving. The electrical design scope of this project included extending services to pre-engineered metal buildings used for classrooms and vehicle storage, interior and exterior lighting and controls, emergency lighting, and site lighting. Technology design work included extending new communications service to the building, network closet design, and security-related services. Henneman Engineering designed sanitary, storm, domestic water and fire protection systems, and assisted with water well and septic system specification. Concrete slab and foundation designs were provided for the pre-engineered buildings.
Henneman Engineering provided electrical, lighting, technology, plumbing, fire protection, and structural design services.
Lighting Design Scope
- Lighting system includes athletic field style lighting to allow use of 700’ x 200’ skills pad at night
- Vehicle pursuit course lighting meets Department of Transportation standards
- Parking lot lighting for main classroom building
System Design
- Collaborated with local power company to extend new services to project site
- Reviewed lighting ordinances with local authorities
- Full design of power distribution and branch circuitry
- Extended power to vehicle storage facilities for HVAC, lighting, and convenience
- Developed photometric calculations
