To improve reliability and ease of operation at water utilities, Industrial Technology Group has been involved in many control systems upgrades and SCADA systems. A recent project consisted of a totally redesigned plant control system for two plants that regulated all plant processes, as well as remote site monitoring and control. Twenty-four remote sites were linked to the plants via ISDN data lines.  Plant-to-plant communication was over an Ethernet network. A SCADA node at the main office allows monitoring and control from this location. ITG also utilized communication to the main plant via radio to control valve alignment and VFD driven pumps.
