University of Illinois, Krannert Art Museum
Urbana-Champaign, Illinois
Henneman Engineering performed the plumbing, HVAC, and temperature controls design for the renovation of the restrooms in the Krannert Art Museum and Art + Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Included in this renovation was the demolition and new installation of the domestic water system including piping, as well as ADA accessibility upgrades; new floor, wall, and ceiling finishes; replacement of existing supply, sanitary, and vent piping; selection of new walls and doors; and renovation of existing doors.
An existing men’s restroom in the lower level of the Krannert Art Museum was eliminated to expand the gallery space. All new plumbing fixtures were installed in the six restrooms, and five new all-gender, single-user restrooms were retrofitted in the space including the build-out of four all-gender restrooms in an existing abandoned elevator shaft on all levels of the Art + Design building.
