Aspirus Langlade, Health & Performance Center
Antigo, Wisconsin
Aspirus Health & Performance Center features 24/7 secure access, upper and lower walking tracks, a sprint track, court area, cardio equipment and locker rooms with showers. This project included 6 variable volume rooftop units with gas heating and Dx cooling. A heat pump system utilizes an energy recovery system for airside recovery, and fluid cooler combined with variable volume boiler system for temperature control of the waterside system. An in-floor heating system is served from the new variable volume hot water system that controls in parallel with the variable air volume system for optimized energy efficiency. The project replaced or re-lamped existing T-8 fluorescent fixtures with more cost effective and energy efficient lighting while maintaining the appropriate light levels.
Henneman Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and informationtechnology design services.
Energy Efficiency
- Utilized fluid coolers and “free cooling” to support heat pump system
- Introduced airside energy recovery
- Retrofitted and replaced fixtures and re-lamped as necessary to stay in budget
- Minimized reheat and maintained zone temperatures with in-floor heat system
Facility Improvements
- Increased ventilation rates to meet ASHRAE 62
- Utilized temperature controls and heating design for uniform heating to meet ASHRAE 55
- Achieved lighting levels to meet the IES recommended lighting level for each space type
- Programmed and operating DDC and lighting controls per ASHRAE 90.1
