Saint Francis Medical Center, Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center
Peoria, Illinois
The OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center is a 168,800-square-foot facility jointly used by OSF Healthcare and the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Henneman Engineering provided full mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design as well as medical gases and nurses calling capability. The Simulation Center occupies the first two floors of the Center and serves as a true multipurpose space, simulating an operating room, emergency room, intensive care unit, and patient rooms. In addition, the Simulation Center offers unique high-tech mannequins and on-screen simulations that closely mimic complicated surgeries and other procedures. An auditorium at the Jump Trading Center allows for symposiums in which doctors can watch a live surgical procedure. The additional four floors of the Center are shelled space for future medical offices.
The project included construction of new space for shared clinical simulation and exam labs; teaching spaces for the physicians, residents, and nursing program; and conference center for medical symposiums.
